Q. How does your stupid scoring system work?
A. Very simple. The current ‘real’ scoring system is making a mockery of the sport’s history – in a few years even just plain decent drivers will be outscoring the likes of Senna and Prost in the all-time greats point table.
We want to address the balance: we’re reverting to the much missed 10pts for 1st, 6pts for 2nd system – drivers only score points down to 6th place. However we will award points for pole (2pts), fastest lap (also 2pts) and points for places gained (or lost) in the race as well as purely arbitrary scores for people we think did well or made complete fools of themselves.
Q. Why not just accept the official scores?
A. Where’s the fun in that? Most genuine fans would argue that pole position and fastest lap deserve points recognition. We just happen to think that being stupidly brave, or just plain stupid, is also worthy of recognition. And we’re happy to deduct points as well as award them – if you think we’re wrong tell us. We like a good argument.
